Importing a .mogrt file into an older Premiere Pro or After Effects and getting an unsupported-version or "could not be imported" error? A Motion Graphics Template exported from a newer After Effects build embeds a project structure that older Adobe apps don't understand. Our MOGRT Downgrader rewrites that structure to an older, compatible format directly in your browser and on our servers — no reinstalling Creative Cloud, no manual re-export.
Effects, expressions, or renderers introduced after your target version will not function in the downgraded template. Only AE 2022 is currently verified against a real exported file; older targets are supported but unverified, so test the result before shipping it to a client.
For years at Wit & Wisdom we've been plagued by After Effects file incompatibilities. Older machines can't install newer versions; it's a hassle to downgrade even when you have a new machine; older projects that need to be revisited are frustratingly unopenable.
Now ZeroBalanced comes along and it's... not a problem any more. My only criticism is: where have you been all my life?
Now this service exists the padlocks are off. The motion graphics world can breathe a little deeper. All hail ZeroBalanced!

A .mogrt (Motion Graphics Template) is a zip-based package exported from After Effects for use in Premiere Pro's Essential Graphics panel. It bundles the underlying After Effects project data with a definition.json describing its editable parameters.
A .mogrt exported from a newer After Effects version embeds a project structure that older After Effects/Premiere Pro builds don't recognize, so it fails to load or import in the Essential Graphics panel with an unsupported-version error. For the full walkthrough, read our guide: “This MOGRT file is not compatible with this version of Premiere Pro.”
